Lead Process Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering (B.E/B.Tech) or Master’s degree (M.E/M.Tech) in relevant field.

Experience: 12-15 years in process engineering roles, preferably in industries such as Fertilizer, Petrochemical, or Oil and Gas plants.

Software Proficiency: Proficient in engineering software such as MS Office, AutoCAD, Aspen HYSYS, and Aspen Plus.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead and oversee Basic & Detail engineering activities, including process flow diagrams, heat & mass balance calculations, piping & instrumentation diagrams, line sizing, and pressure drop calculations.
2. Develop and review process and equipment datasheets, Line Lists, and other relevant documentation for accuracy and compliance with Codes & Standards.
3. Utilize software tools like MS Office, AutoCAD, Aspen HYSYS, and Aspen Plus for advanced engineering analysis and design.
4. Obtain, assimilate, and provide relevant design input to the project team, ensuring integration and consistency in deliverables.
5. Ensure timely preparation and approval of design deliverables, coordinating with other Engineering disciplines.
6. Conduct thorough checking and review of all process-related documents and drawings before release at any revision status.
7. Lead work planning, progress monitoring, and adherence to scheduled completion of engineering documents.
8. Support and mentor junior engineers and trainees in process engineering functions.
9. Collaborate with project managers, clients, and stakeholders to address technical queries, resolve issues, and ensure project success.
10. Stay updated with industry trends, technologies, and regulations related to process engineering.

Additional Skills:

1. Expertise in process flow diagrams, heat & mass balance calculations, piping & instrumentation diagrams, and equipment design.
2. In-depth knowledge of applicable Codes & Standards and regulatory requirements.
3. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
4. Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines effectively.
5. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
6. Familiarity with Quality, Environmental, Health, and Safety (QEHS) standards and regulations is a plus.
