Position: Piping Engineer

Qualification: B.E/B.Tech. (Mechanical Engineering)

Experience Level: 3-6 years

Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Piping Engineer to join our team. As a Piping Engineer, you will be responsible for various aspects of piping design, materials, documentation, and project coordination. The ideal candidate should have 3-6 years of industry experience, preferably in fertilizer, petrochemical, or oil and gas plants. Proficiency in piping design engineering, knowledge of codes and standards, and experience with 3D tools are essential for this role.

Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Perform basic and detailed piping design engineering activities, including layout design, equipment arrangement, and piping routing.
2. Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and statutory requirements in piping design, materials selection, and documentation.
3. Prepare and review piping materials, including specifications, data sheets, and bill of quantities (BOQ).
4. Collaborate with procurement and contract teams in the preparation of mechanical contract specifications and tender documentation.
5. Conduct piping stress analysis to ensure the integrity and safety of the piping systems.
6. Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, such as civil, structural, electrical, and instrumentation, to integrate piping designs.
7. Work with 3D tools such as E3D, PDS, SP3D/PDMS, MicroStation, and AutoCAD for design and coordination purposes.
8. Review and approve statutory approval drawings and documentation as required for project compliance.
9. Support project coordination and ensure timely completion of piping engineering deliverables.
10. Participate in technical discussions and meetings with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
11. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and drafters.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (B.E/B.Tech.).
2. 3-6 years of industry experience in fertilizer, petrochemical, or oil and gas plants.
3. Strong knowledge of basic and detailed piping design engineering activities.
4. Familiarity with piping materials, codes, and standards, including statutory approval requirements.
5. Experience in piping BOQ preparation and mechanical contract specification and tender documentation.
6. Proficiency in piping stress analysis and knowledge of stress analysis requirements.
7. Working knowledge of 3D tools such as E3D, PDS, SP3D/PDMS, MicroStation, and AutoCAD (added advantage).
8. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in resolving piping design and coordination issues.
9. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
10. Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks within project deadlines.
