Position: Electrical Design Engineer

Qualification: B.E/B.Tech. (Electrical Engineering)

Experience Level: 3-5 years

Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and overseeing electrical systems for projects in the fertilizer, petrochemical, or oil and gas industry. The ideal candidate should have 3-5 years of industry experience and possess knowledge and experience in electrical design software such as ETAP. Strong knowledge of protection schemes, substation layouts, plant area layouts, lighting calculations, and familiarity with relevant codes and standards are essential for this role.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare electrical load lists and conduct load calculations for various projects.
  2. Design protection schemes, single-line diagrams, and substation layouts.
  3. Develop plant area layouts for cable routing, tray routing, earthing, and lighting.
  4. Utilize software such as ETAP for electrical system design, load flow analysis, and protection coordination.
  5. Conduct lighting illumination calculations using tools such as AGI 32 and Luxicon.
  6. Provide guidance on lighting schemes and controls.
  7. Prepare material take-offs and estimates for power, lighting, and earthing systems.
  8. Prepare purchase requisitions and data sheets for electrical equipment.
  9. Participate in technical bid evaluations and prepare evaluation reports.
  10. Review vendor documents for compliance with project specifications and standards.
  11. Guide designers in 3D modeling and 2D drafting activities in coordination with other disciplines.
  12. Utilize 2D CAD tools such as AutoCAD and MicroStation for electrical design activities.
  13. Use 3D model review software such as SPR and Navisworks for design coordination.
  14. Ensure the preparation of design deliverables in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
  15. Coordinate promptly with other engineering disciplines to integrate electrical designs effectively.
  16. Conduct appropriate checking and review of all documents and drawings before release at any revision status.
  17. Assist the Lead Engineer in work planning, progress monitoring, and adherence to scheduled completion of engineering documents.
  18. Support the Lead Engineer in all departmental functions.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (B.E/B.Tech).
  2. 3-5 years of industry experience in the fertilizer, petrochemical, or oil and gas plants.
  3. Strong knowledge and experience in electrical design and engineering.
  4. Proficiency in software tools such as ETAP for electrical system design and analysis.
  5. Experience in protection schemes, single-line diagrams, and substation layouts.
  6. Familiarity with plant area layouts, cable routing, tray routing, earthing, and lighting design.
  7. Working knowledge of lighting illumination calculations using tools like AGI 32 and Luxicon.
  8. Knowledge of lighting schemes, controls, and lighting standards.
  9. Experience in material take-offs, purchase requisitions, and technical bid evaluation.
  10. Strong understanding of relevant codes and standards for electrical engineering.
  11. Proficiency in 2D CAD tools such as AutoCAD and MicroStation.

  13. Strong coordination and communication skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and vendors.
  14. Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management abilities.
